George is a black mottled Pekin, and a menace! He came to us with a little hen as chicks from a breeder.
They had been living in unsanitary conditions and were suffering from Coccidiocis, a very serious disease in chicks which is often fatal.
Thankfully a clean warm bed, plenty of good food and the appropriate medication meant they both survived.
George is a naughty boy, who loves to burst out of his house first thing in the morning bristling and jumping up and down at you. He’s all for show though, and has never actually pecked anyone, although unlike most the other boys, he can’t have free range time with any other cockerels because he will pick a fight with them, no matter how large they are!
